If you have answered yes to these questions then the PINNT South Midlands Regional Group may just be what you are looking for!
I am trying to ascertain if starting a new PINNT regional group is of interest and will be supported by existing PINNT members.
Myself and my colleague had a meeting in Nottingham with the Home Enteral Feeding Dietitians at the hospitals listed, in the hope that they will include PINNT details in the packs they give to patients when they first go home on home feeding, so hopefully PINNT's membership will grow. They are very much in favour of a support group for the area.
Historically, support groups have been one of the main ways that PINNT has been able to support its members. It is an ideal place for an informal discussion (not always meeting at a hospital location) with people who truly understand what it is like to be on artificial nutrition, the good and the bad. As Warwickshire is so large we have decided that it makes sense to concentrate on South Midlands so someone who lives in Coventry does not have to travel to far to attend a group meeting (unless they wish to of course!)
The group is open to all and hopefully will be a place where we can make new friends and share the many experiences we have encountered living life On-Line.
It will also be an opportunity to keep up to date on what is happening in the world of nutrition, hear directly from your PINNT representative's about the work that PINNT is doing on your behalf. We will from time to time invite guest speakers. In short the group will be what you want it to be and only as good as those who support it.
So it is over to you - I am willing to get the group started, and if there is anyone who wants to help me do this your help would be greatly appreciated.
